with deepest sympathy. . .

i'm not one for having a bunch of cards on hand so i can just pick one and send it out -- i like to make things with people in mind.  over the weekend i learned of 2 deaths, and needed to make some sympathy cards.

i love this set from SU - called inspired by nature.  it's so versatile.

the set is 2 pieces - the grass is one stamp, the flowers another.  i also used SU colors -- purely pomegranate (card stock, and ink on sentiment), and black card stock and ink, and white card stock.  the sentiment is something i picked up in the dollar bin.  the sentiment is popped up.

i love the silhouette effect - my husband looked at it and wondered why i made dead flowers -- sigh. ;)

hopefully the card will bring the recipients some comfort.

thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

friendship box --

hi everyone!

great news -- the craft room is kinda cleaned and organized.  :)  just need to figure out a better storage idea for my papers - but, atleast things are cleaned up - i know what i have and where it is - and i can think to create.  hehe.

the project i have for you today i actually did a while ago, and i can't believe i didn't share it with you yet.

it's a box - and i like it because it's made from a stamp - then gets cut out and glued.  so easy and the ideas are endless.

first, here is a picture of the stamp i used from inky antics:

you stamp it 3 times -- and follow the directions.  easy as that! :)

here is the box closed - the tag on the front is from SU.  the ribbon and designer paper is stuff i had on hand, and came from a stack i got at acmoore's.  the tied ribbon holds the box closed - or, you could use a bit of velcro.  the pearls i also picked up from acmoore.

this picture shows the box opening -- i love the contrast of the 2 papers.  there is a piece of plastic sheeting in the window

the last picture is of the box open.  the stamp inside is one i picked up at the dollar bin at acmoore's.

i also sprayed the box with some  diamond angle mist to give it a little sparkle.

this is perfect for candy or small gifts.  this box held some small stamps for a friend.

thanks for stopping by!  now that the craft room is in  abit more of an order the projects will be popping up!

hope you have a great day -- and happy stamping!

mission clean up and organization ---

thanks for stopping by ---

there may be a bit of a lull in the action around here - i've decided it's time to clean up and organize the craft room.  wow -- what a mess, how can anyone be creative in there!

the one good thing - i'm finding fun things i didn't even know i had!!!  hehe --
i spent 3 hours yesterday sorting and organizing -- about an hour of that was just on ribbon alone.  my dad built me these awesome racks ----

the rack on the left holds spools of ribbon, and the one on the right holds punches -- it also has a little drawer for smaller ones.  so -- yesterday, i got those filled up - all the ribbon is untangled, and out of the drawer i had them in -- freeing up space for other goodies.

i'm thinking about having him build me a unit to hold my papers and one for my ink pads.

so -- i'll be back in a few days with some new projects.  i've been finding things for projects that i wanted to do -- stuck them away and didn't get to them --- good news for you!  lots of fun new projects to check out -- lots of 3-D things too!   :)

so -- as soon as i find the craft table again there will be things back up and running.

happy stamping! :)

happy thoughts. . .

wow -- these challenges are addicting.  hehe.  here is a card i did this afternoon, and it fits 2 challenges:

splitcoast stampers sketch challenge -

here is the sketch -

and it also fits this weeks challenge at stampin' sisters in christ sunday challenge .
the scripture this week comes from Proverbs 10:20-21 "The tongue of the righteous is as choice silver, the heart of the wicked is worth little. The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for lack of understanding." the devotion for the week focuses on someone who encourages you .the challenge is to create a card that encourages and has a touch of silver.

so -- here is my card for these 2 challenges.

stamps used : butterflies come from designs unlimited, the sentiment is from impression obsession, and the hydrangea is from the SU set because i care.

the paper and cardstock i had on hand, and the silver trim was also on hand.

the inks are SU and are old olive and perfect plum.

the flower is popped up on dimensionals.

thanks for stopping by - -this card is headed off to a woman from our church who could use a smile! :)

happy stamping !

this just in -------  (hehe) (added monday morning)

i was just checking out some other cards at the SICSC and i found another challenge!  woohoo --- i'm also entering this in the  paper sundaes challenge. again, it's the first time i've entered this challenge - these are fun! :)  the challenge is to "pop something up" on your card.  the flower image is popped up on this one.

again. . . thanks for stopping in and happy stamping! :)

the tea cup --

my second post of the evening is for another challenge.

this one is for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge. i've never played this one before -- i found the link on a stamping friend's blog and thought i'd give it a try.

each sunday they post a new challenge inspired by scripture.  this week's challenge also has a wonderful story attached to it about a tea cup in the Master's hand.  it's a beautiful story -- the link above will take you there if you'd like to read it.  the challenge was to create a card using a tea cup, coffee cup, or tea/coffee pot.

here is my card for the challenge:

i'm sorry -- i'm not sure where the stamp comes from, and i used designer paper i had on hand.  you can't really tell from the picture (i'm still working on my photos) but the teacup is raised with dimensionals, and so is the teabag -- i doubled the ones behind the teabag so that it would stick up higher then the cup.

i loved this challenge -- i collect teapots, and had never heard this story before.  how awesome!

thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping.

:)

taking on another challenge --

hi everyone!

back from the mini-vacation and decided to spend some time stamping today.  you're in luck!  i have 2 post to share with you today.

the first is a card i made for a splitcoast stampers clean and simple challenge.

the challenge was a word inspiration challenge, the word was: GIFT

here is the card i created -- for the gift of friendship.

i used white cardstock for the background and SU real red cardstock and ink.  the ribbon is black.  the stamp set is from SU and is called friendship blooms.

thanks for dropping by!  hope to see you again soon!

tote bag --

as promised here is the project i was working on using the tote bag from the same company as the last post -- too much fun rubber stamps.

this is also too cute!!!

cute right!

here is a pic of it open --

this was also easy to do.  the totebag is stamped with SU true thyme.   the hydrangea is from the SU set - because i care, and is stamped in SU perfect plum and true thyme.  i also punched some holes and laced some ribbon through it.  i also misted it with angel glimmer mist.

i'm using this for a mother's day card, but imagine the possibilities!

happy stamping!  see you again soon!

dad's birthday --

i recently went to the heirloom rubber stamp and paper arts show in allentown, pa.  i bought this stamp - and i used it today to make a birthday card for my dad.  it's really cool!

here is what it looks like --
it comes from too much fun rubber stamps .  they have all kinds of fun stuff -- t-shirts, onsies, bags - lots of cool things (click on the name to go to their site - they also have lots of examples).  this is the dress shirt.  i also bought the pocket stamp, and be watching for a project i'll post soon using the tote bag.

here is my dad's birthday card - he does carpentry work, and wears a green work shirt all the time --so, this looks like his shirt - with a cute little pencil in his pocket!  i love this!

OMG!  right!  :)

here are some more pics of it - -open, and the back.  it was really easy to do.  the stamp does the work -- one BIG stamp -- and it was easy to cut it out.  i made buttons using a 1/8 punch, and the  pencil was used with the SU  slot punch.

this was the first time i used this stamp -- i'm hooked!  i love it!  might need to go shopping on the site and get some more!!!  i also bought the t-shirt one -- hmmmm. . . will have to play with that one too!

like i said, be watching for a project i'm working on using a tote bag stamp from this company.

have a great day !  thanks for stopping by!  happy stamping!
