Easter side stair step card

I saw a card made like this and thought it was pretty cool.  So, had to give it a try.

This is a side stair-step card.

I have to admit -- I cheated a little bit on this one.  I saw the directions and measurements here, and put it on my list of things to try.  All of the measurements, frankly make me nervous!  hehe.

Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend the Heirloom Rubber Stamp & Paper Arts Festival in Allentown, Pa.   There I visited the booth of The Paper Cut .  What a great company!  There I found all kinds of pre-cut and pre-scored things.  I bought a package of pre-cut and scored stair-step cards! woohoo!  So -- I cheated a little bit ---THIS TIME.  But now I have a better visual on how it goes together and I promise I won't cheat anymore.  :)

This card was pretty easy to do, here is a list of items and some directions -

  1. I used a Stampin' Up embossing folder ( Elegant Bouquet) and ran it through my Cuttlebug on the card base.
  2. I then stamped the images on white card stock.  The stamp set  I used is Easter Blossoms, using mellow moss and daffodil delight ink - all from Stampin' Up!
  3. I then cut the egg images out by hand, and cut the girl and the Easter greeting out (and the green backgrounds) using the oval Nestabilities.
  4. I used a finger dauber to sponge the outside edges with the daffodil delight - yellow color.
  5. On the greeting tag, I did a one hole bow,(using Offrey ribbon I had on hand) and then attached the pearls (by Queen and Co. - I picked them up at AC Moore's, for less then a dollar) and glued into place.
  6. On the image of the little girl I added a strip of ribbon and placed the image of the girl over it, then attached the pearls, and glued it to the base card.
  7. Lastly, I attached the Easter eggs.

I really like it, and hope you like it too.  Please feel free to ask me any questions about the directions, or any of the products.

Happy stamping!  Thanks for visiting - please come back to visit soon!
